Problem

How might we shorten popping boba production timings and eliminate sticking of boba pearls?

Thought Process

Separate the pearls upon defrosting by directly interfacing with the existing silicon tray and enable the boba pearls to soak in the sodium alginate solution

Prototype

The device was printed in PLA for prototyping

Testing

To ensure the contraption was working the following conditions were tested:

• Time taken to pop boba from mold into the solution
• Success rate of boba forming without mixing with another piece of boba
• Repeatability of results

The device was able to successfully create 100% of the popping bobbas for 4 different test rounds without adding additional time to the current production process
