About Me

I'm Daniel Foong, a Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion in 3D Printing.
Professionally, I'm working in a military communications company where I test, build and develop the next generation of mesh units. In my job, I design and simulate products using Solidworks, and bring them to life using FDM, SLA and SLS technology. I also support other projects using my personal FDM printer and my company's inhouse SLA printer.
I've also had the chance to develop desktop applications for clients who are looking to automate their modelling workflow with the company's proprietary software in C# and XML. This was in addition to prototyping the resulting model and workflows to ensure the prints required minimal post processing. Some of the projects that I've worked on include orthopaedic casts, lattice midsoles, lattice helmet paddings and latticed bicycle saddles.

Personally, I've been maintaining and upgrading my Ender3 and Sidewinder X1 printers for over 4 years, printing filaments from PLA, PETG, TPU to Nylon for prototyping, educational teaching and end products.
